Whew! I think I'm back!

I know it's been quite awhile since I blogged, and I sincerely want to keep this up, but I've been pretty laid out for about six weeks. Not the SWINE flu, but very anemic. I didn't know having a hemoglobin count of 7.1 could turn me into a human slug, but it did! I'm all the way up to 10.something and am feeling much better, thank you.
Finding the little brooch pictured here made me feel pretty good too! I found this sassy Hattie Carnegie piece at the Goodwill for Pete's Sake! Sitting in the case with the really junky stuff! Imagine, poor Hattie having share the same air as the mass-churned-out stuff from China sold by the little teen boutiques at the mall!
I've searched hundreds of listings on dozens of sites on the internet with Hattie Carnegie stuff and found quite a selection of Hattie's quirky and lovely pieces, but not a single one like this. If anyone knows anything about this one, please feel free to contact me.
If you'd like to purchase this pretty, you can find it at Three Chicks Vintage on Etsy: Oh My Hattie Carnegie Vintage Enamelled Orange Butterfly Brooch

Something Old ~ New To You!

Isn't that what shopping Vintage is all about? Finding something old that's new to you?! My little sister, Di, and I, sniff out some great vintage jewelry. Her ol' sniffer was working great last week when she came across this strawberry brooch, pooch brooch and fantastically unique lady brooch! Whatcha think?
I stopped in for a visit the other night and check out her latest finds (AND to give her the opportunity to gloat!), and was stunned by the sparkling hoard of vintage jewelry she just scored. Wow! Watch 3CV as she gets these pieces cleaned, photographed and listed because you are in for a great treat: big and bold necklaces from the 1970s, bright and glittering rhinestone ensembles from the 1950s and the most fantastic beaded evening bag from Torii. I'll preview a few of them here in the coming week. In the meantime, check out our other goodies at Three Chicks Vintage!
What's your latest and greatest vintage find? Write and let us know - send a photo and we'll post it here!

Feeling Crabby? Butterflies in your stomach?

I picked up a couple of cuties yesterday! This little crab pin is amazing - and he's in such good condition. He can't wait to crawl his way onto your lapel!
I love the little bird earrings too. Aren't they simply pretty? I've not seen old screwback earrings like this. So sweet and coppery. This butterfly brooch was marked as a favorite by three people within minutes of being listed! A little less than perfect because he has some stones missing, but with this pave' style it's scarcely noticeable!

Okay, have you noticed that I've been a little ABSENT lately?
If you have been as busy as I have, perhaps you didn't and that's okay, I'll forgive you. I'm going to try REALLY hard to stay on top of this blog a couple times a week. If you check in and it has been five days or so without change, give me a nudge at threechicksvintage@gmail.com.
SO, what is happening at Three Chicks Vintage? Well, you know how summer is roller coaster season? That describes our sales. We are grateful for the customers who have encouraged us just as things were looking most bleak, but we are looking forward to steady sales again. To encourage that, we're tossing up a bunch of 'new' listings this weekend - just little inexpensive stuff for the most part to get people in the mood to shop. A lot of it is from our 'scratch and dent' pile of jewelry that we just didn't know what to do with. There are pieces missing a stone or a bead or that have some other imperfection, but still look fantastic. They have too much life in them to relegate to the resurrection pile. We hope you find something that catches your eye!
With softball season over with (yes, we LIVE for softball, softball is our LIFE. . . sigh), we'll have more time for yard-sailing, thrifting and auction-haunting, so look for some new stock in the coming weeks. We are also building up a pile of autumnal looking jewelry and apparel which we'll list by the end of August, and some Christmas holiday items not to long after that.
I'd love to hear from some of you, so please drop me a line or post a 'hello'!
PS - While you're surfing, check out Ira Mency's 'Funky Junque Chronicles' on Associated Content. She'll be featuring Three Chicks Vintage soon - we'll let you know when soon!
